How do I track how they heard about our service?
A very important piece of marketing is to know where your customers are coming from. There is Referral field in the Address Book which allows you to track this information.
- Click the Address Book tab.
- Create a New Contact or or Find an existing customer.
- Click the Other tab.
- Enter the Referral field.
- Click OK to save.
To review an aggregate of Referrals, click View > Web Reports > Marketing > Referrals Report.
What if my computer crashes or a virus infects my machine?
The architechure of the system is that all the data resides on our servers. If your machine crashes or a virus infects your machine, it will not affect your database. That means, when you recover your system; or, you install the software on another computer, your data will be there waiting for you!
Enabling automatic login
There are some stations that you may want to have automatically login, rather than having individual users type in their names and password. This can be done through a registry change.
- Load the registry by clicking Start > Run > regedit.exe
- Go to registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Officedoxs Software\General
- Click Edit > New > DWORD Value, and save with the Name of "AutoLogin".
- Select "AutoLogin" and click Edit > Modify.
- Change the Value data to "1".
- Click OK to save.
To disable the automatic login set the Value data to "0" or delete the "AutoLogin" key.
